From Athens’ vibrant food scene to some of the world’s leading trade fairs, this edition of “The Sweet Life” took listeners on a journey through gastronomy, innovation, and Greek spirits.
Maro Paraskevoudi and Tzortzina Remoundou joined the program to present ΩDDE, an innovative new project that is redefining the way people share culinary experiences and discover the treasures of the Greek land.
The program then turned its attention to Greece’s national spirit, ouzo, and its growing international presence. Through stories, research findings, statistics, and iconic songs inspired by ouzo, listeners explored the history and global journey of this quintessential Greek product.
The tribute also featured interviews recorded at the international ProWein trade fair in Germany with three leading figures of the industry: Giorgos Loukatos, President and CEO of the Loukatos Distillery; Isidoros Michailidis, Export Director of Ouzo Plomari Isidoros Arvanitis; and Dimitris Papadimitriou, Export Director of Pilavas Ouzo Distillery.
Together, they discussed the opportunities and challenges facing Greek spirits in international markets and the enduring appeal of ouzo around the world.
