On the Friday, 07 November 2025 edition of the program “Take Your Time”, following the day’s news headlines from online and print media, the discussion began with the issue of gun ownership and use in Crete and other regions of Greece, with guest Dr. Giorgos Papakonstantis, retired Brigadier of the Hellenic Police and lecturer at Panteion University.
In the second hour, film and theatre director Kostas Papakostopoulos, founder and Artistic Director of the Greek-German Theatre of Cologne, joined the program live at the Voice of Greece studio. The conversation focused on the staging of his play “The Navel of the Earth” at the Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera, performed that same evening — Friday, 07 November — in Greek with German surtitles, for one exclusive performance.
In the final segment, Elena Moudiri-Chassiotou, musician and voice instructor, presented an educational program titled “The Songs of Shame”, implemented in Thessaloniki schools by her team. The project explores Greek folk songs that convey gender stereotypes related to equality and violence, aiming to raise awareness and break the cycle of these inherited narratives through the voices of young people.
