This episode of “The Sweet Life” welcomes to the studio chef and author Michalis Damianos. Together, we leaf through his books “The History of Culinary Art,” “I Want to Be a Chef,” and his latest, “Cooking at Sea.” He shares stories from kitchens across Greece, abroad, and on board ships.
Also joining us is Sotiris Bolis, who gives us a tour of the Melitzazz Festival, taking place for the 13th year in Leonidio (3–6 June 2025). This year’s edition celebrates the unique local eggplant, honors the women of Tsakonia, and brings tradition to life in the alleys of the town.
Lastly, we head north to Amyntaio, guided by Polytimi Farmaki — Deputy Governor for Tourism, Culture, and Environment of the Region of Western Macedonia — to preview the European Wine Conference “The Wine Lands of the Lakes: Wine – Place – People,” scheduled for 27–29 June.
On the mic: Nikos Ioannidis and Natasa Vissarionos.
