zacharias Sokos studied International and European Economic Studies at the Athens University of Economics and Business (ASOEE), as well as directing.
He worked as a journalist at ERT, in newspapers and magazines. He has served as director of Hellenes Abroad and satellite television at ERT and was a member of the organizing committee of the founding assembly of the World Council of Hellenes Abroad. He was editor-in-chief, presenter and producer of many television shows on ERT’s channels (“38th Parallel”, “Chairetismata”, “Gefyres”, “Apostrophos”) and radio shows (on the program “Apostrophos” of the Third Programme of ERA, on the program “Elefthero Vima” of the Second Programme, et al). He was particularly involved with issues related to the Greek Diaspora, but also issues of literature and art, and has recorded through interviews a significant number of renowned figures of Greek literature, as well as issues related to Greek culture and beyond. He has published the poetry collections “Alla Roucha”, Gavriilidis publications 2015, and “Dipli Prosperasi”, Melani publications 2017. He was born in Kefalovryso in western Greece and grew up in Agia Paraskevi in Athens. |
