Giannis Efstathiadis was born in Athens in 1946. He has published ten collections of poems and verse, as well as poems for children. He has also published seven books of short prose and short stories as well as five books of essays, musical texts, articles and chronicles. Under the pseudonym Apikios, he systematically wrote about gastronomy.
For his book “Anthropoi apo lexeis”, he was awarded the Greek State Prize for Short Stories in 2012. In the same year, he was awarded the Ourani Foundation Prize of the Academy of Athens for his literary and musical essays.
Since 2004, he has been a music producer at ERT’s radio Trito Programma and has worked on 7 different shows (production, musical selections and show hosting), with more than 600 episodes.
He has also hosted 50 episodes of ERT’s television show Orchestra Rehersal.
