Poet of the Week 12/02/2019

In 1963 she married Giorgos Papakostas and they had three sons. She has worked at the National Bank of Greece and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She is a Social Welfare volunteer at the Hellenic Red Cross. Her poems have been translated into French, Spanish, Italian, German, English and Turkish, and have been included in well-known anthologies and published in newspapers and literary magazines. She is a member of the Hellenic Authors’ Society and a founding member of the Poets’ Circle. Reviews of her work have been published in newspapers and literary magazines. Her poetry has often been presented in Athens, Thessaloniki as well as the rest of Greece. In April 2010 she represented Greece at the International Poetry Festival held in Istanbul, the cultural capital of 2010 and in September 2015 in Toledo, at the Voix Vives Poetry Festival, in July 2016 in Sète, France and in June 2019 in Genoa at the same festival. He has published six poetry collections. The latest, SILVER ALERT (Kedros Publications, 2016), was awarded the National Special Τheme Αward. She has translated poems by American poet Emily Dickinson and has participated in the publication of the testimony “Aisthisi Gynaikas” alongside 5 other women writers.
