Poet of the Week 03/17/2019

Nikolas Evantinos was born in 1982 and is from Ierapetra in Crete. He studied History and Archaeology, with postgraduate studies in Modern Greek Literature at the University of Crete. He has written five books of poetry. “Mikres Angelies” and “Eidiseis” from the publications

His poems have been translated into English, Spanish and French. He participated in the Lodeve Mediterranean poetry festival in 2013. His poems have been included in various anthologies and published in several literary magazines and newspapers. For the collection “Eneos”, he was awarded third prize at the Poetry Symposium of Patras. At the same time, he is involved in music. In 2010 he released his first album titled “Pantachou Apon”, while he also created the band “Fer’ to Foko” which released one album in 2015. The digital single “Chalinari” was released in 2018. He has written lyrics to five songs for the album KYRVA by Nikos Mastorakis
