Eleni Zacharopoulou Iliopoulou was born in Tropaia of Gortynia – Arcadia. She studied at the Pedagogical Academy of Tripoli. She writes poetry and essays.
In 1994 she published the poetry collection: “Leaving the lull”, awarded by the French Academy “Lutece”. In 1995, she published the essay “I parasimoforia tou Dimostheni Zade”. In 1999 she was awarded a commendation at the “International Epigrammatic Contest” (International Society of Greek Writers). In 1996-1997 she was awarded by the Literary Association “Parnassos” in the Poetry Competition of Greece. The same association presented her poetry in the hall of “Parnassos”.
Her poetry collection “Mutual transfer” (Oi Ekdoseis ton Filon, 1999) was awarded by the “Hellenic Society of Christian Letters”. Poems from this collection translated to French won a silver medal at the international poetry competition “Delia” in Italy in 1999.
She collaborates with various literary magazines and newspapers. She has published in Greek and foreign anthologies.
Her poems have been translated into French “Lychnos”, Italian “Poeti Greci contemporenei” (Contemporary Greek Poets) and in Slovenia.
Member of the Hellenic Society of Christian Letters, the Organization for the Promotion of Greek language and the Hellenic Authors’ Society.
