Giorgos Rouskas was born into this world in Attica, in May 1962.
Following exams, he was admitted to the Varvakeio High School and then to the School of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University. Since his graduation, he has been working as a freelancer. He has held two solo painting exhibitions: “Ostraka” in 2004 and “Achlys” in 2007, as well as a solo exhibition of ceramics in 2018 entitled “Idiais Chersin”. Writing is a way to fundamentally explore and know himself, but also an attempt to bridge the chaotic rivers that perpetually flow within, thus creating channels of communication with both the inner Being, and the Fellow Man. By publishing his works, he temporarily lets his immigrant ideas settle in a paper homeland. Once there, the words are free to form tributaries of his existence and pour into those of the readers, so that after unsuspected but nevertheless common confluences, they continue to flow together in the great river of time and life. He expects to remain as he has stated in his lyrics: A traveler on the streets of the earth. A migrant on the paths of dreams.
He has published the following poetry collections: “Achlys 2” Alpha Omega Publications – 2010, “Alexilypoi Skialytes” Alpha Omega Publications – 2012, “Aylo Pyar” Chilon Publications – 2013, “Ero” Sokoli Publications – 2017. “Haiku Nimata” Sokoli Publications – 2017. He has also written the essay “Nyktourgia Emvaptiseos eis ta Potamia tou Giorgou Georgousi” Sokoli Publications – 2017, the play “Pentagrammo Fengari” published by Sokoli Publications – 2018 and the following studies: “I Aliki sti Chora tou Digeni”, “Kritiki Prosengisi sto Vivlio Poiisis Epitafios Dromos tou Kosta Th. Rizaki” Koukkida Publications – 2018. He has published short stories, essays, articles and critical readings of literature in both print and online literary magazines.
