“The Sweet Life” with Natasa Vissarionos and Nikos Ioannidis | 05 Sept. 2025

In the first part of the program, we travel to enchanting Cairo and meet chef Dimitris Koutsonikolas, known in the land of the Nile as the “ambassador of Greek cuisine.” He introduces us to Egyptian gastronomy, guides us through the streets of Cairo, and takes us into the kitchen of the Egyptian Greeks, filled with the aromas of the East.

In the second part, we journey to the Dodecanese, and specifically to Leroσ, a small Aegean island that has remained untouched by mass tourism, preserving its authenticity. With Marietta Kasti as our guide, we stroll through the narrow lanes of Platanos, enjoy the sunset at the harbor, discover traditions and customs still alive today, taste local dishes and sweets, and savor wines from the dry vineyards. We also explore the unique architecture of Lakki, with its buildings from the Italian period, and meet people who keep the old, genuine hospitality of the Aegean alive.

We also visit the events “Great Days of Nemea 2025” and “Wine Routes of Paros” organized by the Women’s Association of Naoussa, Paros.

Produced and Presented by Nikos Ioannidis and Natasa Vissarionos.

Every Friday at 5 PM, for two hours, “The Sweet Life” invites listeners into the world of gastronomy and nutrition. With a diverse range of guests—farmers, producers, nutritionists, exhibition organizers, chefs, and food psychologists—the show sets the table to explore the exceptional Greek products, their health benefits, and the many forms of alternative tourism across Greece.
