Kostas Kremmydas was born in Kolonos, in August 1955.
He studied Political Science and Public Administration at Panteion University, Pedagogy at the teacher training institute SELETE, Law in Athens and Social History at the Sorbonne, where he presented his Master’s thesis: Trade union movement and banks in Greece (1917-1949), The case of the National Bank of Greece. He holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Patras, where he wrote his dissertation on the educational role of the magazine “Epitheorisi Technis” (1954-1967). Since 2000 he has been a member of the Organizing Committee of the Poetry Symposium, taking place under the auspices of the University of Patras. Since 2016 he has been teaching at the Postgraduate Department of Creative Writing of the Hellenic Open University. He has published six poetry collections: To asanser, Mia Imitelis Synousia (1993), Odi sta Troley (1995), Yper Iroon (1998), Minymata se Kinito (2002), Santigkar (2013) and, with Alexandros Arabatzis, Poiimata Mikrosoma Asota kai Fantasmena sta oria tou Political Correct (2014). In 2014 he published his book of political vignettes Xouthou & Menandrou Gonia. 2017 was the year the autobiographical novel Erythrolefki Trela, Kokkines Toulipes ston Kolono came out. His art critiques, essays and vignettes are published in newspapers and magazines. |
