Panos Kyparissis was born in Oxya, Ioannina. He studied Mathematics and Literature at the University of Athens and Theater at the Drama School of the Theatro Technis (Greek Art Theater) “Karolos Koun”. He is an actor and director in theater, television, and film. He worked as a teacher of Literature and Mathematics in secondary education for about a decade. In addition, he worked for eight years as a teacher of Acting at the drama schools “Veaki”, “Neo Elliniko Theatro – Giorgos Armenis” and “Dilos – Dimitra Hatoupi”. He writes poetry, essays and translates plays. His work has been translated into English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Bulgarian and Czech. In 2014 he was awarded the Greek State Poetry Prize for his book “Ta Timalfi”, and the First Prize of the Ierapetra International Documentary Festival, for the film “Giannena tou Stochasmou kai ton Thrylon”. |
