Thanasis Chatzopoulos is a poet and translator, child psychiatrist and psychoanalyst.
He has written sixteen books of poetry from 1986 to 2016: Idiois somasi, To Afoto, Apo katavolis drosou, O ex aimatos nekros (French and Italian translations) Ston ilio moira, Rimata gia to rodo (Spanish translation, National Translation Prize in Spain 2003), Kanonas, Keli (French translation awarded the Prix Max Jacob étranger 2013), Anagrammatismoi sti siopi (poetry essay), Migadika kai amfithali (French translation) No humans’ land-reference, Psifia gia psifides, Perasma, Metopi, Prosopo me ti gi, Fili tis zois. He was awarded the Athens Academy Poetry Prize (Petros Charis Foundation, 2013) for his entire body of work. He was awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Republic (2014). He also wrote Ena Mikro Koutaki Xylino (Fairy Tale, 2004) and Oi Lismonimenoi (Two Novellas, 2014). He has translated books of French writers, poets and thinkers (twelve books) and English psychoanalysts. His poems and prose have been translated into twelve languages.
