On Thursday’s broadcast, 26 March 2026, we opened with a review of current affairs and the front pages across the internet and newspapers. Immediately afterwards, we connected live with Sydney to speak with Mr. Filippos Fortomas, MP for the Cyclades (New Democracy) and Chair of the Hellenism of the Diaspora Committee, who is in Australia with a cross-party parliamentary delegation to attend the celebrations marking the anniversary of 25 March. Mr. Fortomas spoke about both the commemorative events and his meetings with representatives of the Greek community, Archbishop Makarios of Australia, as well as second- and third-generation children learning the Greek language. The major parade in Sydney will take place on Sunday, 29 March.
We then discussed the situation in the food service sector following the outbreak of the war, as well as the new collective labor agreement signed for catering and tourism, with Mr. Giorgos Kavvathas, President of GSEVEE–POESE. The first hour concluded with international news presented by Ivana Djordjevic.
At the start of the second hour, we heard an interview given earlier to Voice of Greece and the program “Take Your Time” by Iasonas Apostolopoulos, a well-known rescue worker and activist. Speaking just hours before boarding his return flight to Europe, he described his recent visit to Cuba, where he took part in a major solidarity mission in support of the Cuban people, who are facing severe hardship due to their exclusion from international oil markets. He outlined the conditions experienced by the population, marked by ongoing power outages, and stressed the need for a coordinated response from the international community and support for the people. As he noted, even those who oppose the regime are prepared to take up arms, if necessary, to defend their country.
In the final part of the program, our studio guest was Mr. Theodosios Pelegrinis—professor, former Rector of the University of Athens, author, and actor—on the occasion of his new book “Philosophical Theatre”, published by Kostarakis Editions. We discussed the relationship between philosophy and theatre and its evolution through the centuries, as well as the current global situation, before turning to domestic political developments, as Mr. Pelegrinis is among the figures associated with the new phase of expansion sought by Nikos Androulakis within PASOK.
The program concluded with sports news, with Michalis Ladopoulos in the studio.
